Engage

Sumner Academy black alumni represent an expansive network of individuals with knowledge, experience and other resources that would benefit Sumner Academy students.

Volunteer opportunities

There are many volunteer opportunities for alums looking for dynamic ways to give back:

  • Mentors
  • Academic tutors
  • Special event volunteers
  • College and career mentors
  • Research project advisors

To find out about volunteer opportunities at Sumner Academy, contact: information@sablackalum.com. Alumni are also encouraged to work directly with Sumner Academy to design new volunteer opportunities.

Sponsorships

Sponsor students through the Sumner Academy Black Alumni College and Career Readiness Fund. Your support would connect students with college and career readiness supports.

There are opportunities to join educational travel groups that many Sumner Academy students cannot afford. Contribute to the McIntire Travel Fund to support student travel. For more information, contact Tracey Cheatham McIntire, Class of ’87 at traceycheatham0304@gmail.com.
